This Study Program in Civil Engineering represents the rounding off of the professional education of civil engineers in accordance with positive national and international legal regulations. In this sense, the teaching of the second level of education for civil engineers is designed so that in the first semester it concentrates on aspects of the profession, while in the second, through the preparation of a master’s thesis, the student has the task of synthesizing the acquired knowledge and abilities by solving a complex problem-design task. Classes are conducted using different methods, and thanks to small groups, the focus is on interactive work with students.
The purpose of gaining an understanding of the breadth and complexity of this basic professional field is to prepare students for further training and to provide them with support in the identification of personal professional affinities, that is, in the recognition of more specialized and specialist professional guidance.
The main goal of the Study Program is the acquisition of appropriate higher education in the field of design and technology of building construction. The aim of the study program is to acquire a qualification that enables independent and responsible work in the field of design and implementation of construction facilities.
Study programs through their content should enable students to acquire the following knowledge and skills:
* ability to create construction projects that meet functional, aesthetic and technical requirements;
* adequate knowledge of urban planning and design, as well as the skills involved in the planning process;
* understanding of research methods and preparation for the design of facilities and related engineering content, as well as preparation for their realization in a real environment;
* adequate knowledge of regulations and procedures, as well as institutions and industries, involved in the process of realization of the construction object;
* to apply acquired knowledge and skills in practice and transfer them to colleagues at work;
* to show and present the results of their work in an appropriate way (verbally, in written, graphic and digital form), accessible and understandable to everyone;
* to recognize, describe and solve basic design and engineering problems;
* to understand the interaction between design, construction and the demands of users, the environment and society;
* that under the management of a licensed construction engineer – designer they design objects of less complexity; that they manage a smaller construction project under the management of a licensed construction engineer – contractor;
