The study program of Master’s academic studies in Rehabilitation, for the acquisition of the title of Master Rehabilitation Therapist (mast. terap. rehab.), lasts 1 year and includes 2 semesters of classes evaluated with 60 ESPB. Out of a total of 11 subjects, including SIR – clinical professional practice 1 and 2 and the master’s thesis, within the scope of this study program 5 subjects are compulsory, where in the other two subjects students acquire additional knowledge about the principles and methods of scientific research work and information systems in rehabilitation, as could independently use search engines and scientific databases, electronic sources information and literature in electronic form and to use certain programs for writing and presenting seminar, professional and scientific papers.
From the first semester, students are able to choose one elective subject from a total of six, offered through three elective blocks, through which they will be able to affirm their preferences and determination towards certain areas of rehabilitation, whether it is musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy. , neurological or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and prevention or immunology. For all subjects, the number of hours is 60. For the subject of the final thesis, i.e. SIR – clinical professional practice 2 and 300 hours per semester are planned for the master’s thesis. The semester lasts 15 weeks. All courses are one-semester. Compulsory ones carry 7 points, optional 6 points, and the rest of the points are divided into SIR – clinical professional practice 1 and SIR – clinical professional practice 2, which bring 6 each and the master’s thesis 16 ESPB.
Through the Master’s academic studies in Rehabilitation, students will be trained for the following jobs, independently and/or as members of a team:
• application and, through innovation, expansion of modern preventive, diagnostic and rehabilitation methods based on the principles of good scientific and clinical practice,
• setting up hypotheses, initiating and implementing scientific and professional projects and research dealing with the application of physiotherapy programs, methods and concepts,
• supervision of physiotherapists and participation in their continuous professional development,
• planning, organization and management of work in the field of rehabilitation of various pathologies,
• to continue further academic training through doctoral or specialist academic studies.
Upon successful completion of MAS Rehabilitation, a student, given his competence, can have a wide range of employment in institutions at all levels of the health system, as well as in the non-health sector.
The basic goal of the MAS Rehabilitation study program is to further develop the knowledge and skills of physiotherapists with the goal of successful professional work, all in accordance with the principles of good scientific and clinical practice.
The specific goals of the program are:
1) permanent monitoring of modern scientific trends and achievements and transfer of specific knowledge and skills to students through modern curricula and programs,
2) enabling the transmission of modern knowledge, methods and scientific techniques that are applied in developed European university centers, but also taking advantage of the good achievements of the higher education system in the country,
3) training for continuous use of lifelong education, monitoring and contributing to new achievements in professional practice,
4) independent and responsible application of specialized knowledge,
5) acquisition of knowledge necessary for interprofessional cooperation and teamwork within the healthcare system,
6) training of physiotherapists in terms of responsible respect and application of European standards in the education and practice of medical rehabilitation,
7) developing the ability to critically analyze research in the field of rehabilitation and related fields,
8) developing the ability to independently initiate, plan and conduct research in the field of rehabilitation, as well as publish research results,
9) active participation in the application of different educational models in the clinical and academic environment.
The Master Rehabilitation Therapist acquires the competencies to:
*applies and through innovation expands modern preventive, diagnostic and rehabilitation *methods based on the principles of good scientific and clinical practice;
*sets up hypotheses, initiates and implements scientific and professional projects and research dealing with the application of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs, methods and concepts;
*plans, organizes and leads work in the areas of prevention, physiotherapeutic diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation of various pathologies;
*supervises the work of physiotherapists and participates in their continuous professional development;
*continue doctoral or specialist academic studies.
The master rehabilitation therapist cooperates with all health professionals who participate in preserving and improving the health and quality of life of patients/clients.
