Rector's Message
The State University of Novi Pazar was established in 2006 and, at the close of its second decade, stands as a reputable higher education institution providing education to more than 3,000 students. In a period of serious societal and academic challenges, the University has undergone numerous trials, conscious of its obligation to serve as a pillar of stability, a space of knowledge, and an institution where responsibility is not merely proclaimed but practised. At this stage of its development, the primary objectives of the University must be the improvement of teaching quality, the strengthening of scientific research activity, and the establishment of an efficient governance model founded on transparency, accountability and long-term planning. Internationalisation constitutes one of the key strategic directions of development. International cooperation is treated as a strategic resource for enhancing the quality of study programmes, advancing scientific output and increasing institutional visibility. To that end, intensive engagement in international programmes and the development of joint study programmes with partner universities are indispensable.
Internal development will be directed towards the professionalisation of governance and administration, the digitalisation of processes and the improvement of internal procedures. Plans include the strengthening of departments and research centres, the introduction of clear and measurable criteria for academic advancement, and systematic support for early-career researchers through mentorship and professional development programmes. Scientific research activity will be strengthened through the promotion of interdisciplinary projects, increased participation in international funding competitions and the enhancement of publication output in high-impact, internationally recognised journals. An institutional approach to development must be insisted upon, characterised by clearly defined objectives, measurable performance indicators and responsible governance. At the centre of this approach is the University as a stable, professionally managed and internationally recognised academic institution. It is our aspiration that the State University of Novi Pazar should continue to serve as the leading institution in this region — one in which young and educated professionals acquire the qualifications for their respective fields, and whose expertise constitutes a foundation for economic development. The knowledge acquired at the University should serve the cause of comprehensive development and ethical values, and bring benefit to every individual.
