About the Department

The Department of Law Sciences provides students with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of legal sciences, including legal concepts and institutions such as: property, contract, state, marriage, guardianship, finality, legal force, enforceability, and related concepts. It covers all major branches of law: criminal law, civil law, commercial law, constitutional law, public international law, as well as substantive and procedural law — including criminal procedure, civil procedure and administrative procedure.

Students acquire general and specialised theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and competences necessary for the professional — both individual and team-based — performance of legal work in state administration bodies, local self-government units, public services, associations and legal system institutions.

Teaching at the Department of Law Sciences is conducted at the Bachelor Academic Studies (BAS) and Master Academic Studies (MAS) levels.
