All courses are optional, one semester, and bring 6 ECTS each. The final master’s thesis yields 24 ESPB, and the professional practice in the ninth semester yields 6 ESPB.
The Mathematics study program has the following clearly defined purposes:
* acquisition of competences for work in teaching jobs in primary and secondary education,
* acquiring opportunities for involvement in development and scientific work, solving problems in mathematics and other fields, where the application of mathematical tools is required,
* meeting the needs for professional and qualified personnel in social, service, commercial and other activities.
The goals of the study program are:
* to acquire and transfer knowledge and skills in the field of mathematics,
* familiarization with mathematical modeling, as well as with different applications of mathematics in natural, technical, social and other sciences and professions,
* training for understanding mathematical proofs, and therefore logical argumentation in more general situations,
* acquiring the ability to creatively solve problems using mathematical tools,
* mastering the skills of practical use and application of information technologies.
By mastering the MAS Mathematics Study Program, the student will obtain the necessary professional, didactic-methodical and pedagogical-psychological competencies for the successful implementation of all educational programs in the field of mathematics at the elementary and secondary school level. They will be trained to perform all types of mathematics classes – regular, additional, optional and supplementary.
Students will get the necessary expertise for various technical jobs and occupations in society, state administration and the public and private sector, which includes an analytical way of thinking, basic knowledge in the field of mathematics, knowledge of statistics and the ability to use mathematical modeling to solve various problems.
